KARIMNAGAR: The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of elections to 134 cooperative societies which would be held in two phases on October 22 and 24 in the district. The first phase of elections would be held for 65 cooperative societies on October 22 and nominations for would be received on Friday between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They would be scrutinised on October 15 and withdrawal of nominations is October 16. Polling would be held on October 22 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the counting of votes on the same day from 3 p.m. onwards.
Second phase
For the second phase of elections on October 26 for the 69 cooperative societies, the nominations would be received on October 18, scrutiny is on October 19 and withdrawals on October 20. The elections would be held on October 26 between 7 am to 2 pm and counting of votes from 3 pm onwards. The authorities have reviewed arrangements for the receiving of nominations, scrutiny and implementation of model code of conduct etc. The cooperative department is chalking out strategies for the smooth conduct of elections with the appointment of election officers and other staff for the polling.
