Two constables suspended
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Two beat constables attached to the Madiwala police station were suspended for failing to reach an engineer's house in HSR Layout in time to prevent a robbery on Thursday.
The constables were suspended after residents complained that the robbers got away because the police reached late, despite being alerted about their movements. Residents had called up the police control room from where the message was relayed to the Madiwala police station.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madiwala), Nagaraj, had immediately directed the two beat constables to rush to the spot. But it was learnt later that the constables had ignored the direction. Tilaknagar police inspector Krishnappa is conducting an inquiry into the incident.
