Anniversary

Sri Bharathi Teertha Seva Prathishtana will celebrate its third anniversary on October 16 at Sri Sringeri Sankara Mutt at Shankarapuram. Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh will be felicitated. Former Chief Justice and Governor M. Rama Jois will preside over the function.

Collection centre

The Divya Shanthi Christian Association, a non-governmental organisation, has set up a collection centre on its premises at No 117/4, Sakamma Layout, Hennur Main Road, Bangalore 560084. Those who want to donate food, warm clothing, blankets, tents, medicines and dressing material may hand them over there.

Exhibition

Bharati International Hobbyists Association will organise an exhibition of rare and old coins, currency notes, stamps, books, old cameras and other objects at the Sri Chandrasekhara Bharati Kalyana Mantapa on Pampa Mahakavi Road, Chamarajpet. The exhibition will be open till October 16 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Entry is free.

Awards

Grashom Publications, Bangalore, has announced the following awards for overseas Malayalis, and those living in Kerala, in recognition of their services to the community. The award winners are: Andrew Pappachan (U.S.) Garshom Pravasi Ratna Award; Abdulla Manjeri (Saudi Arabia) Garshom Yuva Pravasi Award; and Paul Jose (Kochi) Garshom NRK Returnee Award.

Certificates

Pensioners under Employees' Pension Scheme and Employees' Family Pension Fund Scheme under the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner have been asked to furnish life certificates or widower/widow non-remarriage certificates as applicable if their pensions are to be continued. These certificates are to be produced at the bank/post offices where pension is paid and the prescribed forms can also be got from them.

Tie-up

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. has entered into an agreement to distribute the entire range of UTI Mutual Fund Products. Initially, the bank has designated 75 of its major branches, including those in Bangalore, for distribution of the mutual fund products. UTI Asset Management Company now manages about Rs. 25,000 crores of assets.
