Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: After successfully completing the annual Navaratri Brahmothsavam of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, the TTD is now gearing itself up for the next major event in its itinerary for the year -- the annual Brahmothsavam of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanur.

The nine-day fete would get under way from November 28 with Ankurarpanam and Laksha Kunkumarchana slated for the previous day.

Schedule

Important dates of the festivities are, Dhwajarohanam on November 28, Gajavahanam -December 2, Garuda Vahanam- December 3, Rathothsavam- December 5 and Panchami Theertham the next day signalling the end of the event.

Besides initiating steps to spruce up Tirupati and Tiruchanur with arches, festoons, cut-outs and serial lights to add colour to the festivities, the TTD as it does every year, is also making elaborate arrangements for cultural, devotional and spiritual programmes under the aegis of its Dharma Prachara Parishad, Annamacharya Project and the S.V. College of Music and Dance.
