Chennai players dominate

Udhagamandalam: Siddarth Jain, Jerry Martin and Prakash, all from Chennai, scored thumping wins over their rivals and made it to the men's singles semifinals of the State-level badminton ranking (prize money) tournament at the Anna Stadium courts here on Saturday.

Lady Doak College lifted the Fathima Cup defeating Sri Meenakshi Government College for Women 43-27 in the final of the Madurai Kamaraj University women's basketball tournament at L.D.C indoor stadium here on Saturday.

The results: Lady Doak College 43 (Sri Legha Selvam 13) bt Sri Meenakshi Government college for Women 27 (Krithika 10).

Sun takes title

Sun Engineering College, Nagercoil beat St. Xavier's Engineering College, also from Nagercoil, 25-20, 25-13, 27-25 to win the title in the Anna University Zone X inter-collegiate volleyball tournament at Government College of Engineering ground in Tirunelveli on Friday.

PET Engineering College, Valliyur beat MEPCO Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi 25-27, 27-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11 for the third place.

2-1 win for Dudley FC

Dudley FC beat John Paul FC 2-1 in the Dindigul DFA `B' division league on Saturday. Sathik Ali and Srinivasan scored for Dudley. Satheesh scored for John Paul.

Helm to commentate

in Federation Cup

England's popular commentator John Helm and former England international Russel Osman will do commentary during the Federation Cup football championship to be telecast live on Zee Sports from October 19.
