ADILABAD: Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and residents of Bhuktapur locality on Saturday observed bandh following vandalism at the locality's Pochhavva temple. A `rasta roko' was also staged on NH 7 in the afternoon. Residents had noticed in the morning that the wooden idol of goddess Pochhavva was thrown on the road by some miscreants. However, policemen led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Madhava Rao brought the situation under control. Meanwhile, SP Kripanand Tripathi Ujela and Adilabad RDO D. Ashok Kumar Naik also visited the site. Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy and Municipal Chairman Digambar Rao Patil too visited the spot. The residents decided to reinstall the idol in the temple that was built recently behind veterinary hospital.
