ZP standing panel meet adjourned

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: The Zilla Parishad Standing Committee meeting on works and finance was adjourned due to lack of quorum on Saturday as members staged a walk out protesting against ZP Chief Executive Officer's alleged arrogance.

Earlier, there were arguments between members and CEO Dasrath Ram Reddy after floor leaders of the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party tried to move a resolution seeking the CEO's surrender.

The floor leaders - Srihari Rao (Congress) and Jogu Ramanna (TDP) - raised the issue of the alleged high-handed behaviour of the CEO with ZP employees. Based on the allegation, the two members sought to move a resolution.

However, Mr. Dasrath Ram Reddy questioned the competence of the members in seeking his surrender. After heated arguments, the two members staged a walk out. This resulted in lack of quorum.

ZP Chairman and Chairman of the committee L. Shamsunder adjourned the meeting. Nirmal MLA A. Indrakaran Reddy was also present.
