Laudable

The Government's permission to Pakistani helicopters to fly in the no-fly zone along the LoC on a case-by-case basis is a laudable gesture. Pakistan should understand the realities of the situation and accept without any hesitation, reservations and delay, the help offered by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for joint relief operations in the earthquake-affected regions of PoK.

All efforts must be made to ensure that relief reaches the distressed swiftly. The feeling of the mainstream adopting a nonchalant posture towards the victims should not be allowed to crystallise in the trouble-torn Kashmir Valley. The army needs to be commended for its splendid efforts at relief and rehabilitation.
