NELLORE: Thanks to widespread rain in several parts of the district and also flows from upland areas, most of the rivers/tanks have reached full capacity bringing cheer to farmers. The water capacity in the Somasila reservoir reached 36 tmcft on Sunday evening and owing to adequate availability of water, there is a great possibility of water being made available to 5.5 lakh acres in the delta areas. Somasila level may go up further and there is a distinct possibility of farmers resorting to second crop in all the areas. The water level at Kanigiri reservoir has gone up to 18 feet. If the trend continues, all the reservoirs in the district would have full capacity.
