He told presspersons here on Monday soon after assuming charge that his efforts will be aimed at winning the confidence of the people. He said the focus will be on the matka gangs operating in the district. "I have information on illicit liquor and hooch being manufactured in some of the villages which will be dealt with seriously," he said. About the residential school for children of policemen, he said 37 acres of land has been identified at Ganjigatti in Kalghatgi taluk and there is a proposal to build the residential school at a cost of Rs. 12 crores.
