Special Cell clarifies in phone tapping case

NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of the Delhi police has told the Delhi High Court that it has tapped the telephones of an accused and his wife after taking permission from the Principal Home Secretary of the Delhi Government

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, told this to the Court in reply to a petition filed by the accused Mohammed Usman alias Haji.

In the petition, the accused charged certain officials of the Cell and the Central District Police with bugging his and his wife's phones illegally.
