Numberless scooter in police quarters creates panic

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A numberless scooter parked in the open space at police quarters behind the DGP's office sent the policemen into tizzy on Sunday night. A guard on duty grew suspicious after spotting the numberless vehicle and alerted the Saifabad police.

With the mysterious explosion that left two persons, including a home guard, dead at Commissioner's Task Force office fresh in memory, the Saifabad police called in bomb disposal teams and dog squads.

However, everyone heaved a sigh of relief after learning that the two-wheeler belonged to a constable Srinivasulu working in Crime Investigation Department.

The constable got painted the scooter in the morning and parked it outside his quarter.

He was supposed to get the number plate too written afresh, the police said.
