Engineer held for threatening

NEW DELHI: A 36-year-old engineer working with a private power distribution company has been arrested by the East Delhi police for allegedly threatening a 22-year-old woman in her house at Laxmi Nagar on Sunday night.

A country-made revolver, five live rounds, a knife and Rs. 2.38 lakhs in cash have been recovered from his possession.

A call was received by the Police Control Room around 8 p.m. saying that a man had entered the house of a woman at Laxmi Nagar and was threatening her with dire consequences at gunpoint. The police reached the spot and arrested the person, who was identified as Pradeep Sagar, an employee of BSES and a resident of Vishwas Nagar in East Delhi.

Molestation alleged

NEW DELHI: A teenaged girl today alleged that she had been molested by a Delhi Police constable. The girl, a resident of Dwarka in south-west Delhi, claimed that the constable had come to her house on the pretext of having water and molested her.

She also said that the constable had beaten her mother and a relative when they protested.

However, a senior police official said no case had been registered against the constable.
