KOZHIKODE: : Ending speculation on who will be the BJP candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha byelection, State BJP president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai on Tuesday confirmed that it would be the senior leader C. K. Padmanabhan. The State BJP president also claimed that in his perception, his principal rival in the election would be Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate Panniyan Ravindran and not United Democratic Front(UDF) nominee V. S. Siva Kumar. "The UDF has ceased to be a relevant factor in this election in Thiruvananthapuram. The BJP has overtaken the UDF. This is clear from the results of recent elections in Thiruvananthapuram," Mr. Sreedharan Pillai claimed Mr. Padmanabhan would be the party candidate in Thiruvananthapuram.
