Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE: K. Muraleedharan, president, Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran), has said the understanding the UDF and the BJP had struck in the recent panchayat elections will be extended to the next Assembly polls too.

Mr. Muraleedharan was inaugurating the district convention of the DIC(K) here on Tuesday. The BJP will help the UDF in 137 Assembly constituencies while the UDF will help the BJP in three constituencies - Manjeswaram, Palakkad and Thiruvananthapuram East - in the next Assembly polls, he alleged. The DIC(K) will take out a `padayatra' from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram from November 23 to January 9. The organisational elections of the party will be completed by January 31.
