Prayers for quake victims

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: For those affected by the recent earthquakes in India and Pakistan, there is no dearth of fervent prayer from countrymen on either side of the border. On Sunday, special prayers were offered at the Arch Diocesan Pastoral Center under the auspices of Prince of Peace Ministries.

Hundreds of Christian believers, including children, came together to pray and express solidarity with those who lost their family.

Senior Bishop B. A. James Santhosham led the mass in the presence of Timothy Sng, associate pastor of the Prince of Peace Church, Malaysia.

The Senior Bishop told the audience that irrespective of whether the affected were Indians or Pakistanis, "they were our relatives."

He exhorted believers to contribute towards the relief missions.

Prince of Peace located at Santhome has taken up welfare works in villages for the past 34 years.
