Last date for receipt of revaluation applications extended

BANGALORE:
The Bangalore University Syndicate on Tuesday decided to reduce the revaluation fee for B.Ed. examination from Rs. 400 to Rs. 150 with immediate effect.
The reduction was one of the demands of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which held a demonstration at the Central College, where the Syndicate members met.
The Syndicate also extended the last date for receipt of revaluation applications for the B.Ed. examination held during June 2005, to October 25 without fine, and up to October 29 with a penal fee of Rs. 50.
Several B.Ed. students had urged the university to reduce the revaluation fee as there are many from financially weaker sections. The university felt that the fee could be reduced as the revaluation fee for other degree courses was only Rs. 150.
Chairmanship
The Syndicate also adopted a resolution to extend the principle of rotation of Chairmanship of the University Departments even to the ad hoc appointment of coordinators and directors wherever feasible.
Besides, it was also decided that the appointment of directors would be made by the Syndicate after inviting applications from eligible faculty members and recommended by the expert committees.
