NEW DELHI: The 18-year-old girl who was criminally assaulted allegedly by four young men at Sabzi Mandi on Sunday night had apparently left her home as her uncle ill-treated her and her parents objected to her pursuing further studies. Meanwhile, a city court sent her to Nirmal Chhaya women's home on Tuesday. Earlier, a police team that had gone to trace the family of the rape victim in Ghaziabad on Monday found that the address given by her was that of her aunt. While the girl had earlier told the police that her parents were dead, inquiries at her aunt's house revealed that her parents are alive and living in a village in Modinagar. Another team was then sent there to trace her parents. They reportedly told the police that she had left the house a couple of days ago.
