Bangalore: The Hindu -NIE schools are all set for the Young World Fest 2005. The mega event, billed as "eagerly awaited" by students year after year, will be held from October 24 to October 26 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, J.C. Road, here. The Hindu Young World Fest, an interschool literary and cultural event that was first held in 2000, is organised for schoolchildren in Bangalore and other districts. Over 2,000 children from 150 schools are expected to participate in this year's event. Children will participate in competitions to win more than 190 prizes. Registration is only through The Hindu -NIE schools. There is no entry fee. Not surprisingly, The Hindu Young World Fest has been recognised as a prestigious event for schoolchildren. It provides an opportunity for students to exhibit their talents at various competitions lined up for them. The fest encourages them to think positively of their abilities and participate in contests with courage and conviction. It makes little difference whether they meet with success or not; it is the spirit of participation that is more important. The festival helps students build camaraderie and exchange ideas and views. They show enthusiasm and cherish memories of events for years. Celebrities will be among the guests of honour at the fest.
