Kozhikode: District Collector Rachna Shah inaugurated a two-day training programme for entrepreneurs of the Akshaya project at Renaissance Hotel here on Thursday. The entrepreneurs will be imparted training in management skills to run the Akshaya centres in the district. As many as 176 entrepreneurs are being trained in three batches, said C. Baburaj, assistant district co-ordinator. He said that the training programme had been envisaged with the help of KITCO. Kozhikode District Planning Officer N. Radhakrishnan presided over the inaugural session. KITCO senior consultant Gils K. Jose spoke on the occasion. The training session for trainers of the Akshaya project will conclude on Friday. The training programme started on October 6. The trained teachers will instruct the targeted computer illiterate people in the district. Seven batches of 100 persons were trained at a two-day workshop. Experts from C-DIT and IT@School led the classes. Certificates were also issued by C-DIT to the trainers. Ms. Shah will preside over the valedictory function of the programme at 4 p.m.
