Kerala
There will be no major public programmes during the daytime on Ramzan month. But the newly elected office-bearers of Kozhikode Corporation are busy these days attending umpteen number of reception meetings organised in their honour. Also, the politicians, being responsible to their voters, are finding it hard to say no to these meetings. Obviously, the organisations have a list of woes. They hope that the new leadership will listen to their problems and get them solved. Also, the newly elected office-bearers are like newly married couples. They are the cynosure of all eyes. Some of these organisations have found it convenient to club Iftar parties with these meetings. But the councillors must be a little cautious about eating all that fatty food.
