Speaking on his participation, the man with eight ATP singles titles and career prize money of over $11 million till date said, "The tournament is great and the enthusiasm of the Chennai crowds is very encouraging. I love India and it's always a pleasure to come back here. I am really looking forward to playing at the Chennai Open once again. This is the fourth time that I will play here and having won the title twice I am confident that I will be able to raise my game to the highest level and get a great start once again to the new ATP Champion's race."

Ravi Krishnan, Managing Director, IMG/TWI, South Asia said, "It is an honour to have Moya play at the Chennai Open once again. He is a Grand Slam champion and has been ranked in the top 10 consistently and we can certainly expect some scintillating tennis from him in Chennai."
