BIJAPUR: The Lokayukta police have caught A.R. Nagendranath, Divisional Controller of North-West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, Bijapur, while allegedly taking bribe from a suspended conductor. Sanjay H. Jambore, an office assistant, who reportedly facilitated the illegal deal, has also been arrested. The official had reportedly sought Rs. 10,500 from Siddanna Vithoba Natikar, a conductor on suspension, to get him reinstated. A squad led by the Lokayukta Superintendent of Police, Kashinath Talkeri, conducted a raid on the NWKRTC office here on Wednesday. Mr. Nagendranath and the assistant were caught red-handed, sources said. Later, they were produced before the Sessions Court and released on bail.
