JAIPUR: The public sector power transmission and distribution companies in Rajasthan have launched a massive feeder renovation programme to bring down the distribution losses to 15 per cent. The power companies are also making arrangements for supplying adequate electricity to farmers during the rabi season to facilitate the sowing of crops. An effective implementation of these programmes will be ensured through regular monitoring. The Chairman and Managing Director of the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, Shrimat Pandey, addressing a review meeting of power companies through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday, said the feeder renovation programme would be given the highest priority. Mr. Pandey called upon the officials of power companies to take up repairing and restoration of feeders in the spirit of a mission and said the chairpersons of the three power distribution companies in the State should visit each circle at least once in every two months to take stock of the situation. Mr. Pandey reviewed the preparations for supplying electricity to farmers during the rabi season and gave instructions for speeding up electrification, improving revenue earnings and supplying essential items to all 33 KV power sub-stations.
