State youth festival concludes on a grand note

Competitions in seven events conducted in Tirupati; the rest will be organised in Vizianagaram and Warangal

IN A COLOURFUL VORTEX: A drama troupe from Hyderabad enacting a play `Chakravyuha' as part of the State Youth Festival 2005 at Tirupati on Thursday.

TIRUPATI: The two-day State Youth Festival 2005 came to a grand close at the SVU Srinivasa auditorium here on Thursday.

Competitions in seven of the eighteen events were conducted in Tirupati, while the rest would be held in Vizianagaram and Warangal. The prize winners at the state-level are as follows.

Bharatanatyam: Chintala Gowri (Ranga Reddy); Kuchipudi: P.Sasilatha Krishna (Visakhapatnam); Kathak: B.Jyothi (Adilabad); Odissi: V.Manasa Bhanu (Nalgonda), One Act Play: Nishamhita group (Hyderabad) and Elocution: Vanadeep (Chittoor). They would take part in the national youth festival to be held at Patna in January 2006. The Assistant Director, State Youth Services, S.M.Ghulam Hussain, gave away the prizes. The Chief Executive Officers of Entrepreneurship Development Council from Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, Prakasam, Anantapur were present.
