A hearty gesture from employees

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee of APSRTC Unions, accompanied by senior officials, on Thursday afternoon presented a cheque for Rs. 2.15 crores _ a day's wages of the 1.17 lakh-odd employees to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

The delegation called on Dr. Reddy at the Secretariat and the cheque was handed over in the presence of Managing Director M.V. Krishna

Rao.

The JAC leaders promised to focus their energies and strive to put the corporation back on the road to recovery and profits.

Everyone in RTC was bleary-eyed. It may be recalled that it was at 5.10 a.m. on Thursday that the agreement was formally signed between the management and JAC, after which the strike was called off.
