Kakinada: Two Ministers _ Jakkampudi Ramamohanarao and Gollapalli Suryarao _ have refuted the charge of Telugu Desam president Chandrababu Naidu on the injustice reportedly meted out to ryots getting displaced under the Polavaram project. At a press conference here on Thursday, they said there were certain rules for land acquisition and Chief Minister Rajasekhahara Reddy was helping the ryots in awarding reasonable compensation.
Sincerity vindicated
They claimed that the latest instance of Mudragada Padmanabham's stir and the positive role played by the Congress legislators in arriving at an amicable solution proved the sincerity and commitment of the Government for the welfare of the ryots. Both the Ministers said that the credit for solving the issue amicably to the satisfaction of Mudragada Padmanabham went to the Congress but not to the Telugu Desam. "The TDP reacted only a couple of days ago while on the Congress side, sincere efforts were made to prevail over Mr Padmanabham to call off his stir, by working out an amicable solution, " they said.
