KARIMNAGAR: As part of the Police Commemoration Week celebrations, a peace rally was taken out on Thursday. Superintendent of Police Devendra Singh Chauhan flagged off the rally from the police parade grounds. Earlier, he also released pigeons to mark the occasion. Students, general public and newly elected corporators participated in the rally enthusiastically. Staff Reporter in Adilabad writes: An `open house' was held at the One Town police station to mark the occasion. College students were given demonstration on the working of firearms. Additional SP (Operations) Madhava Rao and One Town SI L. Jeevan Reddy talked spoke about the role of police in society. At the Rural police station, CI Mashooque Ali and SI T. Moses organised a prize distribution ceremony for students who were winners in literary competitions held in connection with the commemoration day. Superintendent of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela interacted with widows and kin of police martyrs.
AIDS awareness
Meanwhile, Bhoruka Charitable Trust-Transport Corporation of India Foundation will organise an infotainment programme at Jai Jalaram petrol pump on October 21 as part of its AIDS awareness campaign in Adilabad. Adilabad SP Kripanand Tripathi Ujela will launch the programme.
