Delimitation Commission meeting postponed

Special Correspondent

Another postponement may rule out the possibility of the delimitation exercise being completed in time for the Assembly elections.

CHENNAI: The Delimitation Commission has postponed its meeting scheduled for October 24 and 25 to November.

It has requested its associate members — MPs and MLAs from the State - who have not submitted their suggestion on the working paper to do so before October 31.

A release from the Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday said that the Commission would now meet on November 21 and 22. "The Delimitation Commission has made it clear that in case no proposal is received in this regard [from the members], the Commission would proceed to examine the suggestions already received from other political parties/ individuals/ associations, along with its working paper," it added.
