Student arrested for `harassing' girl

CHENNAI:
An engineering student was arrested by the cyber crime cell of the city police on charges of harassing a girl student studying in a city college.
Based on a complaint filed by 22-year-old management student, the police picked up Preetham Venky (24) of Bangalore for harassment over phone. He was later released on bail.
9 rescued from lift
Nine persons spent almost an hour in a lift at the Kasturba Nagar railway station on Wednesday night before the fire service personnel and police rescued them. According to the Kotturpuram police sources, the lift got stuck around 8.30 p.m. due to electricity failure.
