Lifeline Group to launch a speciality hospital

Seven operation theatres, and a 24-hour emergency unit available

CHENNAI:
The IT corridor in the city will have an addition in 10 more days — a multi-speciality hospital of the Lifeline Group.
To be launched on October 30, the Lifeline Multi-speciality Hospital at Perungudi is spread over two-acres and has a built up space of 1,50,000 square feet.
The 225-bed hospital has seven operation theatres, a 24-hour emergency unit and a 52-bed intensive care unit.
Addressing presspersons on Thursday, J.S. Rajkumar, chairman of the Lifeline Hospitals, said this was the third hospital launched in the city after those at Kilpauk and Adyar.
The hospital, built at a cost of Rs.40 crores, would increase the bed strength to 550 in the coming years. It would be functional by November 1 and work on departments such as cardiac surgery, neuro surgery and multi-organ transplant unit were underway, Dr. Rajkumar added.
On the facilities available at the hospital, Selva M. Annamalai, director of the hospital said that besides key-hole surgery and surgical gastro-enterology, the hospital would also focus on cardiac, orthopaedic care and trauma service.
The hospital would also have a well equipped neonatal and paediatric intensive care unit. It would also provide spiral CT scan at nominal cost, he said.
The group would also tie-up with foreign institutions to train more professionals in latest medicine and technology.
