`Deeptosava' at temple
WITH DEEPAVALI just round the corner, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has already begun preparations. In fact, its festival of lights, "Deepotsava", will begin this week and stay bright till November 16.
Sample how the ISKCON temple will look like when it is illuminated throughout the month. Devotees can offer ghee lamps to the Lord, to the accompaniment of devotional music. Special programmes will be held daily from 6.30 p.m., starting with the "tulasi puja", and ending at 8.30 p.m., with the "shayana pallaki". An added attraction will be a fireworks display.
Look out for special programmes on October 31 (Naraka Chaturdashi), November 1 (Rajyotsava), November 2 (Balipadyami), November 3 (Goverdhana puja) and November 4 (Ramzan).
