HYDERABAD: The city will host its first national conference on sexology at Hotel Viceroy from Friday. The three-day conference, which will discuss topics ranging from sex education, sexual myths and misconceptions, male and female sexual problems and dysfunctions, variant sexual behaviour, lifestyle-related sexual problems and socially-relevant issues will be conducted under the aegis of the Council of Sex Education and Parenthood. Its organising secretary G. Venkata Ramana, addressing a press conference here on Thursday, said speakers at the conference would include international names in sexology like president of the Asian Federation of Sexology Ganesan Adaikan (Singapore), D. Narayana Reddy (Chennai), Mahinder Watsa, Vittal Prabhu, Saroj Gumaste and Y. Nageswara Rao. The topics on which the experts would give presentations include adolescent sexual information needs, desire disorders, premarital counselling, recent advances in sexual medicines, sexual behaviour and the law, sexual and reproductive health of IT professionals, recent trends in homosexuality and media and sex.
