I-T survey on IL&FS premises
Mumbai:
Income tax authorities on Thursday carried out a survey at the Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) premises here to probe certain deals, a top IT official said here.
The survey, carried out by the Hyderabad circle, was a ``consequential survey'' and not a raid, said Income Tax Commissioner H. Tulsyan. However, he declined to comment on media reports that the survey was connected to mill land sale in the city. Confirming the survey, Hitel Gandhi, Chief Executive Officer, Financial Services, IL&FS, said income tax officers had carried out the exercise to probe the deals of third parties. The survey was over and the authorities had not found anything ``incriminating,'' he added.
The income tax authorities here were tight-lipped about the survey. PTI
