THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water supply to such areas as Manvila, Kulathur and Sreekaryam will be fully disrupted and the supply to Nalanchira and Paruthippara will be partially affected from 9 p.m. on October 21 to 9 p.m. on Sunday to facilitate repair work on a 900 mm pipeline ferrying water from Aruvikkara to Manvila. According to the Executive Engineer Kerala Water Authority (KWA), a 12-metre section of the leaking pipeline will be replaced. The repair will take 48 hours as the line passes at a depth of four metres and is laid below other pipelines servicing different parts of the city. This pipeline has developed intermittent leaks ever since it was laid in 1998 as part of the interim augmentation scheme. The KWA has requested the public to take requisite precautionary measures.
