HYDERABAD: The arguments in the writ petition challenging G.O. Ms. No. 170 pertaining to Pothireddypadu regulator and three major projects in Penna basin have been adjourned by four weeks to facilitate the State Government to respond to the issues raised. V. Venkata Reddy retired engineer and 126 other farmers of Nalgonda district who are beneficiaries of Nagarjunasagar project filed the writ petition. The bench comprising of acting Chief Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice R. Subhash Reddy heard this matter.
The petitioners brought to the notice of the court that Veligonda, Handrineva and Galeru-Nagari projects in Penna basin were being constructed without appropriate environmental clearance.
The High Court directed status quo to be maintained regarding awarding contract of supply of Hepatitis `B' vaccine to Cerum Institute of India. These status quo orders were passed by Justice C.V.Ramulu of the High Court while dealing with writ petition filed by Life Science India Limited.
