Bus overturns, one dead

One person died and at least three others suffered injuries when a private tourist bus turned turtle at Abdullahpurmet on the National highway No.9 under the Hayatnagar police limits in the small hours of Thursday. The victim was identified as U. Gurunadham (53), a tent house owner and native of Chityal of Nalgonda district.

Rag picker murdered

A 13-year-old rag picker, Dasari Raju, was found murdered at Dhobighat near Puranapul on Thursday. The police said his head was smashed with a boulder while he was asleep between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. A resident of Jhungurbasti in Jummerat Bazar, Raju was the son of Shanker, a labourer. Though the motive behind the murder is yet to be established, the police suspect a quarrel with other rag pickers could have led to the murder.

Baby found dead

The body of a newly born baby boy was found in the garbage bin at Chandulal Baradari under the Kamatipura police limits on Wednesday. The body was wrapped in a pink cloth. A case has been registered.

Man dies in accident

A junior assistant in Telugu Academy, A. Bharat Raj (40) died on the spot after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a speeding tourist bus at Puranapul on Wednesday. The police said Bharat Raj was a resident of Hyderguda in Rajendranagar. He was returning home when the mishap occurred. Cylinder blast: child dies

One-year-old G. Shravan Kumar of Sri Ram Colony in Gellpally, who suffered severe injuries in a cylinder explosion at his residence on October 18, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. His parents -- Mahesh and Sirisha, who also suffered injuries, are presently undergoing treatment, the Pahadishareef police said.
