Lokesh put to narco analysis

Staff Reporter

Test being conducted to know whereabouts of the main accused in the case

BANGALORE: Vice-President of the Viniv Inc group of companies Lokesh, who was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials in Assam recently, was subjected to narco analysis at Victoria Hospital here on Thursday.

Sources in the police said the experts from Forensic Science Laboratory and doctors from Victoria Hospital conducted the test on Lokesh. Sources told The Hindu that the reason behind subjecting Lokesh to narco-analysis was to ascertain from him the whereabouts of K.N. Sreenivas, the chief promoter of Viniv Inc group of companies, who has been at large since July.

After he was arrested, Lokesh had told the police that although Mr. Sreenivas and he had left Bangalore together, he was not aware of the whereabouts of his partner. On a tip off, the CCB team had arrested Lokesh in Gauwhati. Nearly, 7,500 people, who have invested crores of rupees in Viniv Inc, have lodged complaints with the Central police.
