KOCHI: The Ministry of Railways has instructed railway zones to carry relief materials free of cost on trains to the earthquake-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. In the Thiruvananthapuram division, relief materials will be booked at the parcel offices of the railway stations in Nagercoil, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Junction and Town, Aluva and Thrissur. The consignments will have to booked by a district magistrate and addressed to his or her counterpart or relief commissioner in the quake-affected district. The materials will be distributed under the supervision of the State Government. The facility will be available for three months, said a press release here on Thursday.
