Pachan foundation to be opened in Karunagapally tomorrow

KOLLAM: A foundation in memory of the late A. Pachan, freedom fighter and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee member, will be inaugurated by the former Chief Minister A.K. Antony in Karunagapally on Sunday, the first death anniversary of the Dalit leader. In a statement here, chairman of the foundation K.G. Ravi said floral tributes would be paid to Pachan at his tomb before the inaugural function at the Puthumannel auditorium. A seminar on "The role of political parties in social reformation'' would be held soon after.

District Congress Committee president Sooranad Rajashekaran would deliver the commemorative address.

Minister for Welfare of Scheduled and Backward Communities A.P. Anilkumar would honour freedom fighters. N.K. Premachandran, MP; A.N. Rajan Babu, MLA; People's Democratic Party working chairman C.K. Abdul Aziz; and District Panchayat President K. Devaki would speak.
