Chennai: SAI (Kollam) defeated SAI (Chennai) 4-0 in the girls' final of the South Zone inter-SAI hockey tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Friday. Soumya (2), S. Sandhiya and Vivitha V. Thomas scored for Kollam. Sandhiya was declared `player of the final.' In the boys' summit clash, SAI (Bangalore) beat SAI (Secunderabad) 6-2. George Dominic (2), Ravikumar, Mallikarjun, Cheeyanna and Varun Chinnappa found the target for Bangalore, while M. Ajay Babu and K. Nithya Jeyanand reduced the margin for the Secunderabad side. Bangalore's Cheeyanna was adjudged `player of the final' and also won the `best player' award. A.B. Priya of SAI (Chennai) clinched the honours in the girls' section. The chief guest, W.I. Davaram, IPS and Vice-President, SDAT, distributed the prizes.
