Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda
CHANDIGARH: The National Informatics Centre (NIC) would develop an e-placement portal for the Haryana Technical Education Department and the Placement Cell has been activated to speed up the process of providing employment opportunities, according to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the Department here on Thursday night. Mr. Hooda directed the Commissioner and Secretary, Technical Education, Ajit M. Saran, to ensure that the students "remain abreast of the changing technologies and get high quality education''. Mr.Saran pointed out that the entrepreneurship development programmes had been started to improve the rate of placement. The plan budget of the Department had been increased to Rs. 50 crores during the current financial year as against Rs. 29 crores during last year. Certain initiatives had been taken and awards instituted to bring in qualitative improvement in technical education. All Government Polytechnics had been involved in learning through EduSat. While reviewing the World Bank assisted project, it was informed that Rs. 33.68 crores had been allocated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, C.R.State College of Engineering, Murthal, YMCA Institute of Engineering,Faridabad, Government Polytechnic, Nilokheri and State Project Facilitation Unit to improve technical education.
