NEW DELHI:
The U.S. would welcome an Indian citizen to fly in its space shuttle, Under-Secretary of State Nicholas Burns said here on Friday.
The U.S. would extend an additional $5,00,000 in assistance for the October 8 earthquake victims. It would be channelled through international and Indian non-governmental organisations. The U.S. earlier announced an assistance of $1,00,000.
"My Government has been very pleased with the progress in building this [India-U.S.] relationship that Prime Minister [Manmohan Singh] and President [George] Bush began on July 18 in Washington D.C.," he said.
