Patna:
BJP President L. K. Advani on Saturday accused the Centre of failing to check prices of onions.
He told mediapersons here that the former Vajpayee government did not allow the prices of onions to rise despite odds and took corrective measures.
``But the UPA Government did not take any appropriate step, including import of the commodity,'' he said.
Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi echoed similar views and alleged that Union Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar, was not ordering import of onions so that the farmers and businessmen of Maharashtra could be benefited. UNI
