NEW DELHI: Describing Friday's Allahabad High Court Judgement as in total disagreement with the reservation policy, chairman of the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations and Jusice Party Chief Udit Raj on Saturday demanded that the Uttar Pradesh Government immediately file a revision petition against the court judgement. He said that if the court ruling came into force, it would be a great injustice to the cause of Dalits. The Allahabad High Court had ruled that a candidate of reserved category applying for jobs under general category cannot avail of reservation benefits. Similarily, someone opting to apply in the reserved category cannot take the benefit under general category. The judgement was delivered by Justice S Ambwani while dealing with the selection and appointment in 1994 of a Village Development Officer in the rural department of the Uttar Pradesh Government. - UNI
