Vajpayee rebuts Sonia's charge

PURNIA (BIHAR): Rebutting UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's allegation that the NDA Government headed by him was responsible for Bihar's backwardness, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at an election rally on Saturday held the RJD-Congress dispensation accountable for its ills.

``The charges levelled by the Congress president are very serious and lack any basis. Bihar is backward not because of the NDA Government, but due to the erstwhile RJD-Congress dispensation. Congress wants to perpetuate the backwardness it bestowed on the people of Bihar by the Government to which it was a partner,'' he said.— PTI
