Nellore: The Congress party in the district has established a clear lead in the first phase of cooperative elections. The Telugu Desam Party has been marginalised and there is no trace of Bharatiya Janata Party in these elections in most of the places. According to PCC vice-president C.V. Sesha Reddy, the followers of Visakhapatnam MP N. Janardhana Reddy have scored in majority places of the district. This has given a boost to the group, which has fielded Vakati Narayana Reddy as its candidate for the post of chairman, Co-operative Central Bank, Nellore.
