`Judges, advocates are like two wheels of a chariot'

Staff Correspondent

Belgaum: It is the collective responsibility of all the three pillars of Judiciary — judges, advocates and the administrative staff — to ensure that public faith in the justice delivery system has not diminished, said Justice P. Vishwanath Shetty, Judge, Karnataka High Court.

He was inaugurating the conference of Belgaum district judicial employees here on Sunday.

He described judges and advocates as two wheels of a chariot and the administrative staff as "sarathi" holding the reins of the chariot. If there is any imbalance at any of these three points, the chariot will collapse. The administrative staff should not feel inferior in the system as they form the crucial wing of the justice delivery system.

Judges S.R. Bannurmath and A.C. Kabbin, Principal District and Sessions Judge Choudapurkar Arun and Belgaum Bar Association President S.S. Kivadsannavar were present.
