Vocalist contributes to TB patients

CHENNAI: Carnatic vocalist, Sudha Raghunathan, who performed a concert in support of tuberculosis patients on Saturday, contributed Rs. 10,000 towards their cause. The event, called `Diwali Concert', was organised by REACH, a non-governmental organisation which works with the T.B. affected.

Eye camp for journalists

A free eye camp for journalists and members of their families was organised by Mohan Rajan and Sujatha Mohan Rajan of Rajan Eye Care Hospital on Sunday at the Chennai Press Club. Dr.Rajan has assured free treatment to those requiring further assistance at his hospital.

Eye check-up

The Centre for the Welfare of the Aged (CEWA) and the Udhi Eye Hospitals jointly organised a free eye-screening camp for elders at Mangalapuram in Perambur on Sunday. About 150 persons participated, of whom 26 will be given cataract surgery and 32 will be given spectacles.

Wooden block prints exhibition

The ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamilnadu Centre, is organising an exhibition on the Ukiyo-E(wood block prints) at the Lalit Kala Akademi from November 3 to 8. The exhibition will be open to the public till 7 p.m. in the evening, beginning at 4 p.m. on November 3 and at 11 a.m. on the following days.
