K.B. Rajagopalan of Chittoor Road in Kochi is truly a man of letters, literally so. He has penned more than 400 letters to the editors of various English language newspapers in Kochi. He has one complaint though: some editors do not enlighten him as to why some of the letters do not see the light of the day. He wants to know why these rejections? Are they due to illegibility, writing on an inland letter, not typed, the language, or is it anything else? "If only I am made wiser, can I hope to rectify my deficiency (ies)," he says tongue firmly in cheek. He has meticulously kept the cuttings of all the 415 letters published in newspapers from 1980 to till date. He now wants to know whether his name will find a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. He is concerned that some other person is being honoured in this count for having written only 320 letters to the editors.
